Which in this case; those pills are the Nootropics!

This list of nootropics is not just for chemists and pharmaceutical companies – but for all the consumers out there.

Some Nootropics on this list are more potent than others (when used individually) – whereas others acquire maximum potency when used as custom stacks or adjuncts.

This is particularly important because the factor of synergy alone is detrimental to the success or failure of a Nootropic stack when seeking to improve cognitive performance!

After going through this list of substances / dietary supplements, you’ll probably have a few favorite nootropic ingredients / elements in mind.

And (in a perfect world) you’d just want to immediately combine all of them to create the perfect superhuman cocktail, making you limitless like Bradley Cooper in the movie Limitless!

Stacking nootropics together follows the principles of synergy – for that you need to make sure which element goes with which!

Also, the large majority of the substances listed on our Ultimate list of Nootropics below are safe for consumption, and are even great for brain health.

But the former does not necessarily apply to all the Nootropic elements.

This is why you should trust (and invest some time learning from) the heroes of science – for them to produce safe and effective Nootropic stacks for you.   The information is out there, and we will help you on your journey.

This way, you can become your own savior and superhero by tapping into the wonderful world of smart drugs and nootropics!

So, let’s get started…
nootropics list - memory and cognition

1) NOOTROPICS FOR MEMORY AND COGNITION

Alpha-GPC

Alpha-GPC is naturally found in our bodies and triggers the release of Acetylcholine.

Acetylcholine is the primary neurotransmitter of our brain which is crucial to keeping ourselves at peak mental performance – increasing its quantity can help a lot with learning, cognitive function, and memory formation.

Recommended daily dosage: 300-600 mg.

Ampakines

This power-packed nootropic belongs to the racetam family.

More potent and effective than its racetam counterparts.

Ampakines act on the AMPA receptors to excite them – this leads to boosted memory and learning.

It can help you unravel your inner creativity whilst elevating the mood!

Recommended daily dosage: 4-8 mg.

Aniracetam is another powerful cognitive performance substance from the racetam family that has shown promising results in improving memory and cognition!

It also helps tremendously with improving mood and giving you more motivation in stressful situations.

That is because it causes a generous release of Acetylcholine so that your brain fluidity can significantly rise.  It also has a neuroprotective function – after any traumatic injury to the brain,

Aniracetam helps cover up the damage by activating the repairing machinery.

You can’t buy aniracetam at your local pharmacy, and it can sometimes be difficult to find online as well.

So, Where Can I Buy Aniracetam?

The best source we have found (as far as price and potency) is from our trusted source here:  Buy Aniracetam Online

Artichoke Extract (Luteolin)

Artichokes (yes, even a simple vegetable made our list of brain enhanvement supplements!) can easily be found at your local grocery store, and hold a lot of health benefits!

They play a major health role in lowering cholesterol and promoting elevated moods.

However, its most beneficial effect is that of neuronal growth which will undoubtedly amp up your memory stores!

Brain health starts with healthy brain cells!

It inhibits the PDE4 receptor – that degrades our stores of cAMP.

Reduced cAMP means diminished neuronal communication.

Recommended daily dosage: not yet established.

BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor)

This factor (BDNF) is naturally abundant in our brains (mainly the Hippocampus) and plays a major role in the neuronal manufacturing process.

Synaptic plasticity leads to increased neuronal networks – which in turn promote excellent memory formation!

This factor decreases with progressing age – hence often needs to be supplemented in debilitated individuals.

Recommended daily dosage: not yet established.

Black Seed Oil (Nigella Stevia)

Also known as Kalonji, black seed oil has been in use since the ancient Egyptian era.

Amongst its numerous health benefits, the one that stands out most is that of aiding memory and focus.

It inhibits the enzyme which breaks down Acetylcholine.

It has also shown results in promoting a healthy sleep cycle!

Recommended daily dosage: 200 mg

These made our noootropics list because they are amazing memory boosters!

All three of these choline supplements promote the activity of Acetylcholine and also give an essential boost to cognitive performance properties.

Recommended dose: 500-2500 mg.

By increasing the concentration of phosphatidylcholine, Citicholine has served as an efficient aid to memory.

Citicoline can also trigger the release of other neurotransmitters in our brain.

Recommended daily dosage: 500-2000 mg.

Recommendation:  While you can add a generic citicoline supplement to your own custom stack for a mental performance boost (nothing wrong with that),  something even better would be to use an enhanced designer version like Performance Lab’s “Mind”

It’s basically like citicoline on steroids!

You might have come across DMAE in your anti-aging lotions or eye creams!

DMAE can also induce REM sleep cycles for quality sleep.

Recommended daily dosage: Not yet established.

Fish Oil

Fish oil is very rich in Omega-3 fatty acids.

Our brains are mostly fat and it needs such fatty acids for cognitive function to reinforce and build healthy brain cells /  membranes.

Omega-3 fatty acids equip the cell machinery with better quality components so that the brain can deliver its best performance in terms of memory and function!

It also has an anti-inflammatory action to protect your brain from unwarranted damage.

You should always consider adding in an omega-3 fish oil supplement to your daily supplementation no matter what nootropic stack you’re currently taking, as it does wonders for your brain health.

That’s why it has earned a spot in our list of popular nootropic substances.

Recommended daily dosage: 1-2 grams.

2) NOOTROPICS FOR CONCENTRATION & COGNITIVE FUNCTION

Arginine or L-Arginine is an essential amino acid that is consumed in proteinaceous diets.

However, it has poor absorptive properties.

Supplementing Arginine would lead to an increase in Nitric Oxide production – whose quantity is directly proportional to blood flow!

More Nitric Oxide means more blood flow – and that ensures a better nutritive supply for your brain resulting in superior cognitive function!

Caffeine

We’re all VERY well acquainted with this, aren’t we?

Caffeine wakes you up and promotes alertness so that you can last throughout the day!  It can also help you reduce the amount of adenosine in the brain.

Side Note: Nootropics are never meant to get you high or buzzed anyways.  Sure, they can lift your mood, and highten your focus, but they are a far cry from any recreational drugs.

CBD oil triggers the release of endocannabinoids in our body that can help you remain focused!

CBD oil also has anxiolytic properties.

It also triggers the release of Endorphins and alleviates pain! It comes in capsule or powder form.

Recommended daily dosage: 75-1500 mg.

Fasoracetam

Part of the racetam family of nootropics, Fasoracetam is not as well known as some of the other racetams, but it is definitely a powerful nootropic substance that can enhance mental performance.

This lesser-known, and hard to find  racetam is mostly used for ADHD and other attention-deficit related disorders.

It works by increasing the uptake of Acetylcholine in the Hippocampus of our brain and also helps establish active glutamate receptors.

This leads to boosted focus and concentration!

* You can Buy Fasoracetam from our trusted Supplier here:  >> Buy Fasoracetam Online

Theanine or L-theanine nullifies the after-effects of caffeine whilst promoting better focus and concentration.

Recommended daily dosage: 100-200 mg.

>> Read Our Full Article on L-theanine Here!

l-Tyrosine (Or just Tyrosine) is an amino acid that can give rise to very important neurotransmitters – such as Dopamine and Norepinephrine.

Both of them play a key role in boosting focus, and supporting alertness.

It works great for memory disorders as well!

Recommended daily dosage: 150mg/kg.

Phenylethylamine (PEA)

PEA or phenylethylamine acts as a neurotransmitter or hormone that is supposed to peak focus and concentration levels.

It also triggers the release of Dopamine, Serotonin, and Acetylcholine – all of which collectively lead to heightened alertness and superior memory formation.

And of course, a happier state of mind!

PEA Comes in Both Capsule and Powder Forms

Recommended daily dosage: 100-500 mg.

Like many racetams, piracetam (or phenylpiracetam) is also used for a kick-ass dose of focus and energy.

It’s one of the more well-known and widely used of the racetam family of nootropics due to it’s proven effectiveness.

It works by binding to the Nicotinic Acetylcholine receptors.

Piracetam is currently employed to treat depressed mental states.

The addition of a phenyl group to Piracetam renders it more potent and effective!

Currently, piracetam isn’t sold in any over-the-counter supplements due to some FDA regulations, but you can still buy it in standalone form from some merchants online.

Just watch out for fakes or under-dosed powders.

Where Can I Buy Piracetam?

nootropics list - mood elevation

3) NOOTROPICS FOR MOOD ELEVATION

3-oxypyridine (Also Known as: Emoxypine , Mexifin, or Mexidol)

From Wikipedia: Emoxypine, also known as Mexidol or Mexifin when used as the succinate salt, is an antioxidant manufactured in Russia by Pharmasoft Pharmaceuticals. Its chemical structure resembles that of pyridoxine.  It is not approved for any medical use in the United States or Europe.

3-oxypyridine (Emoxypine) is a great nootropic substance.

This bad boy triggers the release of Serotonin and Dopamine and is thus considered ideal for those struggling with depression and anxiety!

It is also associated with dampening the destructive process of lipoperoxidation – which involves your cells being robbed of essential electrons.

And due to its ability to lower blood sugar, it is also beneficial for diabetic patients!

While it’s not approved for any medical use in the USA, you can still buy it online under the name Emoxypine.

>> Buy Emoxypine Here

Recommended daily dosage: 100-125 mg.

Bacopa Monneiri (Very Popular Nootropic Stack Ingredient for Boosting Mental Performance!)

This aquatic herb has adaptogenic properties and is extremely popular in the world of nootropics and cognitive enhancement.

In fact, bacopa monneiri is incorporated into a large percentage of nootropic stacks as well as pre-formulated nootropic supplements.

(Including Mind Lab Pro and Qualia Mind!)

It acts as an antioxidant and also amps up levels of Acetylcholine for better cognitive function.

Bacopa is also involved in significantly raising Serotonin levels – which help you relax and remain happy!

Recommended daily dosage: 300 mg.

GABA (Like Acetylcholine), is also a neurotransmitter – but it has inhibitory actions.

It blocks brain communication which could lead to anxiety and/or depression and hence has a calming effect!

GABA is also known for decreasing brain activity so that you can relax!  It is also readily available for purchase online.

Recommended daily dosage: Not yet established.

Ginseng, or commonly sold as red panax ginseng is a Chinese herb that is also found in green teas!

Ginseng helps improve blood circulation whilst relaxing the mind.  You can find it being sold as raw powders, in capsule form, as teas, or even red panax ginseng extract in small disposable bottles (my favorite!)

Recommended daily dosage: 100-200 mg.

Gotu Kola is yet another Chinese herb that has been known for its ability to improve blood circulation and elevating the mood significantly.

It also enhances cognitive abilities, so it’s definitely worth looking into further.

It’s generally sold as a capsule, liquid tincture, or tea.

Recommended daily dosage: Not yet established.

Kava Kava translates to ‘intoxicating pepper’!

It contains ‘kavapyrones’ which help you feel happier and calmer than usual.

And due to its muscle relaxing properties, it can also help you sleep better.

I personally have only tried kava root powder made into a tea, and I didn’t like the taste, or the numbing effect it had on the back of my throat.

So, its not exactly my favorite item in this list of nootropics (at least not yet anyways).

Some people absolutely LOVE it though, so it really depends on the person.    I plan to try the Kava Capsules instead very soon.

Recommended daily dosage: 250-300 mg.

Kratom (Mitragyna Speciosa Powder)

The leaves from this tree called ‘Kratom’ have slight opioid-like effects (but much more mild), and are used in patients who are addicted to Heroin and want to quit.

This is because it can help relieve the withdrawal symptoms associated with anxiety and depression.

The effects of Kratom leaves are similar to that of Codeine and Morphine (but on a MUCH smaller scale) – which is why it is illegal in some countries and should be used with great caution.  It is legally sold in most states in the USA, but it is not regulated by the FDA so use at your own risk.

There are many different strains of kratom that give different effects.  the rule of thumb is that red strains are more sedating, and green and/or white strains give you more energy.

More is not always better with kratom either.  Less usually means more energy boost, and too much can make you more sleepy.

Recommended daily dosage: 5-10 grams.

If you’re interested in kratom, I highly recommend the Kratom Subreddit where real users share their experiences.

L-Tryptophan

This essential amino acid gets converted to Serotonin in the brain.

Serotonin can improve your mental health state by promoting happier feelings!

Recommended daily dosage: 280 mg.

Lithium

Verdict: Not Recommended!

Lithium is used as a medicine for many disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder.

However, its long term side effects have created doubt in its candidacy as a safe nootropic.

Recommended daily dosage: Consult your physician.

Lithium Orotate (Safe Alternative to Lithium!)

Lithium Orotate is sometimes considered as an alternative to Lithium because it is much safer and a more effective alternative.   People who supplement with lithium orotate report a higher sense of well-being, and confidence.

Low-dose lithium orotate promotes healthy positive mood, improved sociability, and an improvement in confidence and self-esteem.  It is also known to support cognitive function in elderly people.

Recommended daily dosage: 5mg

>> You can purchase lithium orotate from our trusted source here.

Magnesium Aspartate

Verdict: Not Recommended! Stick with Magnesium Citrate instead!  (Aspartate is a non-essential amino acid)

Magnesium itself does an amazing job at reducing cortisol levels and thus reducing anxiety or stress.

It also relaxes sore muscles and alleviates pain.

Combining it with Aspartate gives it stimulatory effects due to the excitatory nature of Aspartate.

However, this might not always prove to be beneficial and may even lead to cell damage or death in extreme cases.

Recommended daily dosage: 300-400 mg.  Consult your physician.

Recommended!

Magnesium citrate is the most common form of magnesium itself, and has had countless studies done on it.

It does an amzing job at providing a calm, relaxed mood and helps reduce anxiety and stress.

This helps tremendously with getting a full rested / better night’s sleep!

Combining it with Aspartate gives it stimulatory effects due to the excitatory nature of Aspartate. (Not recommended to mix with aspartate because it can potentially lead to cell damage)

So, just stick with Magnesium Citrate by itself.

So, What Magnesium Supplement Should I Buy?

I personally like These Magnesium Gummies Here because they offer a better night’s sleep every single time!

Recommended daily dosage: 300+ mg per day.

The velvet bean has been used since ancient times as an Ayurvedic medicine in India.  It is a perfect ingredient to add to any nootropics list when creating a custom stack.

Mucuna Pruriens reduces stress by dampening cortisol levels whilst increasing the levels of Dopamine – this leads to an elevated mood state.

NALT (N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine) is an acetylated version of Tyrosine efficiently increases the levels of Dopamine for elevated mood states.

It is more water-soluble than conventional L-Tyrosine.

It also enhances cognitive function and physical performance side by side due to the release of Norepinephrine and other important neurotransmitters.

NALT is sold in both capsule and pill form, although the powder form tends to be popular for many nootropics enthusiasts due to its easy water soluability.

Recommended daily dosage: 600-1000 mg.

Nicotine

Verdict:  No Thanks!

Although its use is slightly debatable or controversial, Nicotine significantly awakens the rewarding centers of the brain for a relaxed and pleasing state of mind.

Its action can be compared to that of Dopamine!

Some people have successfully used nicotine as a nootropic substance to improve mental performance, but I’m just not on board with the whole idea…

The Problem?  It is Highly Addictive!

However, consuming nicotine in the form of cigarettes does more harm than good and is also very addictive.

I do not recommend taking Nicotine individually.

The oat straw plant is very rich in magnesium and can help you a lot with anxiety and stress disorders!

It is sometimes also used as a sleep aid.

It is a perfect calming or “winding down” evening nootropic, especially in the form of a caffeine-free tea!

There are lots of oat straw teas you can buy online as you can see here.

Recommended daily dosage: 800-1600 mg.

Phenibut

Phenibut falls under the category of central nervous system depressant – this means it relaxes and soothes irritated mind states.

This is why it is widely used in PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), especially in Russia.

It may also be used in depression, anxiety, and related stress disorders.

However, its use still stands debatable.

Recommended daily dosage: Consult your physician.

Picamilon

Even though this nootropic drug is banned in the USA, it is still used in many countries for the treatment of depressed and anxious states.

It is a combination of GABA and Niacin – since GABA alone can not reach the brain, Niacin helps ensure its transport.

Picamilon is also reported to have helped athletes to amp up their performance and also to alleviate the symptoms of migraine and Parkinson’s disease.

Recommended daily dosage: Not yet established.

Rhodiola Rosea

Rhodiola Rosea is an herb that mainly works as a mood-enhancing tonic.

It significantly helps dampen the symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression so that you can feel motivated and confident.  It works really good when stacked with other nootropics to boost cognitive function.

Hence the reason it is a popular ingredient in many nootropic stacks!

Including Mind Lab Pro and Qualia Mind!

Recommended daily dosage: 100-650 mg.

Saint John’s Wort

This is a yellow flower with remarkable mood-elevating properties.

However, it may interact with many medications (especially ant-depressants) and remains banned in France.

It is a prescription medication in some countries and is sometimes also used to help with the symptoms of menopause.

This flower also has some healing properties.

Recommended daily dosage: You Should Consult your physician before taking St. Johns Wort just to be safe.

S-AdenosylMethionine (SAMe)

The methyl groups in SAMe circulate in the bloodstream which helps maintain the metabolism.

Those who lack these elements in their blood suffer from depression.

Just like with St. John’s Wort, SAMe might interact with the use of some antidepressants. Do not use SAMe and prescription antidepressants together for any reason, especially without talking to your doctor first!

Recommended daily dosage: 600-1800 mg.

Sarcosine is popular for its use in Schizophrenia patients.

It is also used to treat depressed mental states by blocking transporters that uptake glycine.

The benefits of increased glycine are enjoyed by those suffering from anxiety and stress.

In other words, it helps with emotional well-being which is a highly sought after nootropic effect for any custom stack.

Sarcosine usually comes in pill form, or chewable tablets which have recently become the favorite of many.

*You Can Buy Sarcosine Here

Recommended daily dosage: 30 mg/kg.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) leads to the formation of Serotonin and Dopamine to help regulate mental states.

Recommended daily dosage: 60-100 mg.

Vitamin B8 (Inositol)

Fun fact: this is not really a vitamin, but a sugar instead!

It influences hormonal balance to promote the elevation of mood.

Recommended daily dosage: Varies according to your condition.

Zhan Zhuang

This is not an edible or ingestible element in the normal sense of nootropics, but I wanted to added it to our ultimate list of nootropics, and for good reason.

Rather, it is a highly effective meditative exercise used by brain hackers and smart drug / nootropics enthusiasts all around the world!

It has Chinese roots and is also known as ‘standing meditation’.

It relieves stress and soothes the mind while composing it for bigger challenges.

This exercise can generate a lot of positive energy and make you more active than you normally are!

Perfect for much needed motivation energy!

Just because it’s not a pill, powder, or food, don’t immediately write it off as a nootropic!

It works so well for people, that I just couldn’t leave it off of this list of nootropics!

Nootropics list - anti-aging and longevity

4) ANTI-AGING, LONGEVITY-PROMOTING, AND NEUROPROTECTIVE NOOTROPICS

Also known as ALCAR.

As we age, our neuronal machinery becomes less efficient, and our mental performance isn’t quite at the level it once was.

L-Carnitine is an amino acid – whence attached with an Acetyl group it becomes ALCAR.

It not only aids memory in older patients suffering from Alzheimers, but also those addicted to Alcohol.

Its anti-aging effects dampen the symptoms of male menopause and also those of diabetic neuropathy & hepatic encephalopathy.

Male menopause is often associated with infertility – ALCAR makes sperms swift and active!

ALCAR is usually sold in capsule form

Recommended dosage: 600-2500 mg.

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA)

ALA is a natural constituent of our cells and they help convert glucose into energy, and thanks to its dual solubility properties – it can provide us a RAPID source of energy!

It is also involved in the process of restoring the integrity of antioxidants once they have succumbed to the battle against free radicals.

Due to its ability to induce the production of Collagen, ALA is rendered an anti-aging element.

You can Buy ALA in Capsule Form Here.

Recommended daily dosage: 100-600 mg.

Apoaequorin

A jelly-fish derived protein that nourishes and protects your neurons!

You’ve likely heard of the brand name “Prevagen” from the TV commercials.

Apoaequorin causes the jelly-fishes to glow once bound to Calcium!

Astaxanthin comes from the family of carotenoids.

Like many elements from the carotenoid family, it has antioxidant properties that can protect your brain from unwarranted damage!  As a bonus, it also helps protect your eyes, joints, and aleviate sore muscles!

Best of all, it’s very affordable.  You can buy astaxanthin online here.

Recommended daily dosage: 6-8 mg.

Boron Citrate

Boron plays a role in treating erectile dysfunction and male menopausal issues.

But because of its anti-inflammatory properties, it is also being used in the Nootropic industry!

Recommended daily dosage: 20 mg.

” CALM DOWN KAREN! “

Just kidding…  But seriously, don’t worry, it’s not actually the claw from a cat if that’s what you were thinking…

It comes from the bark of a vine whose thorns resemble the claws of a cat, and is also known as Uncaria tomentosa.

Cat’s Claw has a LOT of health benefits – it increases the concentration of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) and encourages DNA repair making it a perfect ingredient to add to this nootropics list.

It also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

However, finding an authentic cat’s claw can be quite tricky – since a lot of herbs go by the same name! (other than actual Uncaria tomentosa)

Centrophenoxine

Centrophenoxine is a cholinergic which acts as a carrier for DMAE and ensures its entry into the brain.

It also has neuroprotective and anti-aging properties.

Recommended daily dosage: 250-750 mg.

Green And White Teas / Green Tea Extract

Probably the most renowned effects of green and white teas are that of promoting weight loss and aiding the digestive process.

Green and white tea are both derived from the Camelia Sinensis plant – what sets them apart from one another is their processing.

Green tea is usually dried under shadows whereas white tea leaves are left out to dry under direct sunlight.

White tea might also have relatively less caffeine content.

Which explains their color difference.

Both of them are very rich in antioxidants and can protect your brain from damage.

Recommended daily dosage: Not established.

My Favorite Green / White Tea:

“Stash” Green & White Fusion Tea!  this stuff is freakin’ awesome!

(Yes, I just proudly waved my nerd flag…  But seriously… I absolutely love this stuff)

I swear, once you try this stuff for yourself, you’ll be hooked like I am.

Kanna

This herb shows good performance in old aged individuals.

It not only elevates the mood but also helps in restoring the functional capacity of the brain when it is subject to deterioration.

Recommended daily dosage: 8-25 mg.

L-Carnosine: This molecule consists of two amino acids; Alanine and Histidine – which contribute to the formation of vital organs such as the brain, heart, and kidneys.

L-Carnosine prevents the signs of aging by acting as a barrier in certain chemical reactions that contribute to the decline of organ function.  It comes in capsule form, as well as bulk powder.  You Can Compare Prices Here

Recommended daily dosage: Varies according to condition.

L-DOPA (Mucuna Pruriens)

Since Dopamine can not reach the brain on its own – L-DOPA is used as a carrier molecule to aid its transport in the brain!

Dopamine is an essential neurotransmitter, whose deprivation may lead to the well-known Parkinson’s disease.   It promotes mood, brain health, and overall energy.

It’s a great addition to almost any custom nootropic stack.  You also easily can buy mucuna pruiens online.

>> Buy L-Dopa Supplements Online

Recommended daily dosage: 300-500 mg.

L-Lysine

This amino acid can significantly improve the immune states of our body – which is why it is actively used in the prevention and treatment of Herpes Cold Sores.

L-Lysine may also contribute to better mental states since it can block certain receptors that lead to anxiety and depression.

Recommended daily dosage: 1000 mg.

Methylcobalamin plays an important role in the regeneration of the brain machinery.

This includes nerve fibers and lipids.

Methyl B12 also protects the brain from excessive damage and is thus rendered beneficial for degenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s.

Recommended daily dosage: 500-1500 mcg.

I know what you’re probably thinking…

“Umm.. I thought this was the ‘Ultimate List of Nootropic Supplements’, why are we talking about daily multivitamins?”

Our diets often lack the vital vitamins and minerals that our body requires.

The best way to make up for that loss is to incorporate a multivitamin supplement that consists of all the nutrients you need for the day!  These essential nutrients actually are a key factor in improving cognitive function.

Optimum Nutrition has some great multivitamin supplements both for men and women.  I have been taking ON vitamins for over 20 years now, and I have always noticed better mental performance!

Their ingredient list is impressive and will benefit your mind as well as your body.

A multivitamin should not only be an essential part of any nootropic regimine, it should be a part of everyday life if you want to be at your best!

NAC gives rise to a very powerful antioxidant known as Glutathione.

It also helps in the detoxification process and alleviates the symptoms of certain mood disorders.

Recommended daily dosage: 600-1200 mg.

Noopept is an amazing brain supplement.

Noopept is a synthetic nootropic molecule that is grouped in with racetams (like piracetam) but structurally different from racetams.

It works in two ways: inhibiting the harmful effects of glutamate and inflammatory process whilst promoting nerve growth and neuroplasticity.

Noopept may increase alpha waves in the brain similar to Piracetam; however, it also increases beta waves and decreases delta waves which is very promising!

It has also shown to have very noticeable mood-elevating effects!

Be careful where you buy noopept!

Only buy legitimate noopept from trusted sources.

*This is the only source we currently recommend for purchasing Noopept:  Buy Noopept Online

Recommended daily dosage: 10-30 mg.

You may consider PQQ as a nutrient or vitamin that helps the powerhouse of the cell (the mitochondria) generate energy more efficiently.

As you can probably tell from reading our big nootropics list, energy is a key factor when it comes to nootropics in general.

More energy would mean better focus and alertness!

Pyrroloquinoline quinone  (PQQ) also has a neuroprotective and antioxidant role in the body and works best when combined with Coenzyme Q10.

Pterostilbene is also a great addition to any well thought-out nootropics list.

You can find this potent antioxidant in blueberries.

Since it is derived from Resveratrol, it has the same anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic effects.

But studies have shown that Pterostilbene is more effective than Resveratrol in terms of performance.

Recommended daily dosage: Not yet established.

R-Lipoic Acid  is an antioxidant that removes harmful free radicals by acting as a scavenger.

Getting rid of these stress-causing free radicals can greatly help our brain perform better!

It also works to increase the levels of Vitamins C & E.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is very much similar to the former.

But R-Lipoic Acid is considered much more potent than its counterpart – because it is received and recognized by our body.

Recommended daily dosage: 50-100 mg.

Resveratrol is extracted from red wine and plays a good role in protecting the brain as it ages.

Its main role is as an antioxidant and provides numerous health benefits such as sensitizing the body to Insulin, relieving joint pain, and acting as an anticancer agent.  And some people claim it even helps with mental performance.

*However, I have personally used Resveratrol as an individual supplement – and it did not really make much of a difference.

So I’m presuming it works better when synergized!

But as is the case with all nootropics (or any supplement for that matter), everyone is different, and what works for one person may or may not work for another due to our different body physiologies / chemistries.

Some people absolutely love resveratrol, and swear by it.  Are you one of those people?

The only way to know is to buy some for yourself and try it out.

Recommended daily dosage: Not yet established.

Saffron

This is a very popular spice in India and is raved for its health benefits.

It contains carotenes which act as anti-cancer agents and have immunity-boosting effects.

It is also known to have memory-boosting effects and is sometimes used in young girls who suffer from delayed puberty.

Recommended daily dosage: 1000-1500 mg.

Spirulina is no herb or drug, it is in fact an algae!

This cyanobacterium is extremely rich in nutrients that have anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidant activity.

Phycocyanin is the main active ingredient in this organism.

Spirulina powder  has become very popular as a healthy addition to smoothies, as well as nootropic stacks.

Recommended daily dosage: Not yet established.

Vitamin B-12 has similar effects to that of Methylcobalamin.

Its deprivation leads to gradual memory loss.

Recommended daily dosage: Consult your physician.

Niacin is an excellent antioxidant that generates energy and promotes active signaling in the brain.

It also has many other health benefits such as boosting the immune system and aiding memory.

Just be careful to follow dosage guidelines as niacin can cause as a side effect,  flushing effect of your skin, as well as an increase in body temperature.

Niacin is also an ingredient in some pre-formulated supplements, so always read the labels before adding a standalone niacin supplement to your stack to stay within the daily dosage guidelines.

Recommended daily dosage: 100-1000 mg.

Vitamin D is an essential vitamin for your brain.  Apart from its health benefits, Vitamin D can protect the nervous system from damage.

It causes the production of neurotransmitters in the brain that lead to neuronal generation.

It also protects the brain against inflammation.

Recommended daily dosage: 25-38 mcg.

Zinc plays an important role in the neuronal systems of our brain.

From active signaling to the repair of DNA and RNA.

It acts on the Hippocampus and regulates the ongoing activities in the Hypothalamus and Pituitary gland.

Recommended daily dosage: 10-30 mg.

Glycine is another brain neurotransmitter that has both excitatory and inhibitory actions!

It promotes a relaxing state of mind which can help you sleep better, this is mostly achieved by the temperature lowering effects of Glycine.

It also gives rise to Glutathione – a potent antioxidant in our body.

Recommended daily dosage: 1-2 grams.

L-ornithine is an amino acid used by athletics to improve their performance due to its ability to trigger the release of growth hormones.

But it also shows promising results in promoting healthy sleeping cycles and calm states since it eliminates excess Ammonia from the gut.

Recommended daily dosage: 1000 mg.

Melatonin

Melatonin Is naturally found in our bodies. It helps regulate your body temperature and blood pressure.

Supplementing it might be a sensible option in that case.

Recommended daily dosage: Consult your physician.

Valerian root is an herb that retains GABA, a neurotransmitter that plays an important role in establishing a healthy mental state.

Pre-formulated Stacks

WHAT IS THE BEST NOOTROPIC STACK?

This can sometimes be hard to answer keeping in mind the fastly growing and innovative nootropic industry.

Not to mention the fact that not all nootropics or smart drugs work exactly the same from one person to another (based on our own unique chemistry and physiology make-ups).

My #1 Top Recommended Nootropic Stack / Formula?

However, when it comes to my personal favorite nootropic stack in terms of potency and ingredients – it would have to be Qualia Mind!

A lot of people have doubts about its long ingredient list, but hands down, it has managed to incorporate some of the best nootropic elements in the market.

If you want an amzing nootropic stack without having to do all of the leg work (like researching for hours, measuring out proper dosages, following intense dosing schedules, figuring out possible interactions, etc…), then Qualia Mind would be a great choice for you as well!

Qualia Mind also has a non-caffeinated version – which is ideal for those who can synergize their stack with their morning coffee without over-burdening the body.

My #2 Pre-Formulated Nootropic Stack of Choice:

As for my 2nd choice (and also highly recommended!) I’d go with Mind Lab Pro.

In terms of formulation – Mind Lab Pro has done an excellent job at keeping the product concise amount of ingredients yet super effective.
